Today we have a special surprise for all of the fans of the OWN drama, Tyler Perry’s The Haves and Have Nots. Renee Lawless, the wonderful actress playing Katheryn Cryer, is here to give us a behind the scenes glimpse into her world.
Renee tells a hilarious story about the first time she worked with Tyler Perry. She goes on to tell us what she thinks of her character, Katheryn Cryer.
I’ve always wondered if kissing on set was the best part of being an actress. She tells us who she would want to kiss on the show! When I asked her to tell me about the best part of acting, she said, “Actors get to play pretend. We get to dress up. We get to transport ourselves, out of ourselves in to someone else. Or that alter ego that we don’t dare talk about or don’t dare to go into. Even the shyest person can be extroverted without fear.”
She talks about meeting Oprah, that awkward moment and the awesome moments that followed. About working with Tyler Perry and working with The Have and Have Nots cast. Renee tells us, “Nothing quite ever prepares you for Oprah running across the room to hug you.”
