At What Cost Would You Fight For Someone You Love?

Fighting for your rights. What it can cost you...

When I watch a great movie like Conviction (a true story) starring Hilary Swank, where  ‘A working mother puts herself through law school in an effort to represent her brother, who has been wrongfully convicted of murder and has exhausted his chances to appeal his conviction through public defenders,’ I wonder if I would go that far to fight for my rights or the rights of someone I love. Ideally yes, yes I would! But I’ve never been put in that situation.  Do you ever wonder the same thing or do you know for certain, your limits, if any at all?

I’m lucky enough to meet and interview people who do face movie-like battles for their rights. People like Stacey Doss who fought a 4-year, 1 million dollar custody battle to keep her adopted daughter (watch her video).

Or Petra Sojka who fought to save her life after being kidnapped and living years of abuse in underground sex slavery (watch her video).

These amazing people not only fought, but have been brave enough to make their stories public.

At what cost would you fight for your rights? I wonder that about myself all of the time.
